Does anyone know what this plant is?
It has appeared in our yard and I'm not
sure if it is a nice, unusual plant or a
ferocious weed that will eat my cat.
This is the flower. It is tubular and
has a faint lavender color. Any ideas?

I believe your mystery plant is from the Burgmansia family. Datura/Angel's Trumpet.
All parts are poisonous if ingested.

Annette says Thank you so much!! I think I will yank it out as we have many wild animals that munch through our yard. Although if they haven't eaten it yet they probably know it isn't good for them!
