Treasures I found

Last weekend I went to thrift stores,
garage sales and estate sales.  Here is
some of what I found.

Two adorable lamp shades.  They
would be so cute in a girl's room.

An assortment of goodies.

Not sure what this is but I like it!

Toot Toot shovel, glitter, large spool of
heavy thread, old razor blades and
flower embellishes.

Coffee jar (needs some cleaning),
Barbasol jar, some flower frogs for
my collection, Vick's blue jar.

Colorful knobs, enamelware glass,
alphabet stamps,cute metal Easter egg,
 and an iron wheelbarrow.

Two great pillows, the hanger they
gave me (sweet cover)

Made in Japan paper napkins, Coors
baking dish, white Red Wing candle holder,
two fridge dishes, green plate, bushes and
coins.

An old hole puncher, and blue metal
letter holder (actually got two of them).

Some of this will go to the shop , and
some will stay with me for now.

Hope you had a good weekend of
treasure hunting!

Some Cowboy followed me Home

I found him this weekend while I was out with a friend. I
was not looking for Cowboys but this guy just caught my
eye and I decided to take him home. The landscape reminds
me of central Oregon. Many people don't realize that on
the other side of the beautiful mountains is a high desert. Hmmm,
I am growing more fond of this cowboy and may just keep him.

This picture may give you an idea of how eclectic
my taste is. The purple is strands of crochet. The
pink lamp is very sweet and the bottom part lights
separately...sort of like a night lite. Of course I love
baskets....but rick rack?? Silvery, sparkling rick rack?
I don't even know if I am spelling it correctly. It will
probably go to the shop or the flea market.

There really is quite a bit on that cardboard........

Lately, for some reason, I am drawn to wire baskets. And
they don't have to be old or even some unusual shape....
They just seem so functional. If I don't like the color
I can just spray paint them!

Here is one I found that I like just the way it is.

A different view. It sort of seems to have an attitude. I
like the curly with the all the other shapes.
The flea market season is starting and I'm getting excited.
I often wonder if the people who just drop by a flea market,
but don't go to thrift stores or garage sales or estate sales,
have any idea how much work it takes to pull one together.
Before I ever did one I had no concept. What I do know,
is that they are fun and the people are wonderful. While I've
been a collector forever, I am a newcomer to this adventure.
I treasure the friends I've made.
I think I need to go now and check on the cowboy. I'm not
sure how to break it to Mr. Attic,

On the Hunt for Fun Junque

It is all about the hunt for me. I can
spend hours looking in thrift stores
trying to find something that looks
right and is priced right. This little
dogie shoe holder is one such thing.

I still have a love/hate relationship with Goodwill.
This beauty came from there and was priced so I can
resell it......WOW!! Many of their prices around here
are more like an antique store than a thrift store.

Love this old file drawer. I get so excited when they "mess" up and price a good
thing low enough that it is worth buying. Is this happening
all over the country? I was in Seattle a couple of weeks ago
and the GW up there was priced lower than in our area.

Isn't this great fabric? It is either a wall
hanging or a table runner. Lined in pink and
full of fun color.

This cute little doll was one of my
favorite finds. This was not GW but
a local, wonderful thrift shop called
The ReGifting Store in Vancouver, WA.

So those are some of the recent finds.
I've actually been very pleased lately
with what has been available at thrift
stores in the area. I feel like I've had a
Good Luck Fairy on my shoulder.

May the Good Luck Fairies be with you,

Annette
