New Treasures

This was a good week for hunting treasures. Between thrift
stores and garage/estate sales I found several new items.
I really like this basket made from bark, and the sweet
pansies.

The bright rag rug is fun and the fuchsia painted on the
wooden tray is a delight.

I found a couple of quilts which are very sweet and an
old hat box.

I always have enjoyed The Little Engine That Could.

The vintage pattern caught my eye right away and I've
always had a "thing" for restaurant ware. Isn't the bowl a
great shade of blue?

This picnic basket with the plastic dishes inside was
one of my favorite finds.

This is just a portion of what I found this last week. Some
will go into Andy's Attic and others will be saved for the
upcoming Vintage Gathering Christmas Emporium. Yes,
we are planning a new show in Battle Ground that will
be Nov. 6th through the 15th. Mark your calenders and
stay tuned for details.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Annette

See my new space

This was the old space for Andy's Attic.

New vendors will take it over soon.

This is the beginning of the transition. My new space gives
me more room to have furniture and to rearrange things
more easily.

The sign goes up on a blank wall looking very lonely.

But before I know it the space is taking on a life of its' own.

Things find their place on the shelves.

The color comes back into the space.

And it is ready for opening on Tuesday. There is actually
much more to be done. I just couldn't get it all done in
two days. So I will gradually bring it around to what
my husband calls "The Andy Look". It will be full to the
brim in time for Uncovered Ruby's 2 year bash on Oct. 3rd.
Unfortunately, back in January, we had made plans to be out
of town that weekend. So I will not be able to participate in
the outside market but Uncovered Ruby's blog will keep
you up to date on all the happenings and it sounds like a
fun filled event not to be missed. Hope you can make it,
Annette

Jewelry Question

A very dear friend of mine gave me all this jewelry.

Yes, I said "gave me". Do you believe it? My friend is
over 70 and this all belonged to her mother.

Have you ever had such a treasure given to you? I just
started going through it again.

There are so many wonderful pieces.

I need to get some of the sets matched with their mates.

And sort out some of the broken pieces.

The "Mother" pin is a favorite of mine. My friend had
given it to her mother.

And now for the question----does anyone know how to
clean this jewelry safely? And what about getting
tarnish off the metal?
And the bonus question: Who remembers pop beads which
are in the picture above? (white bracelet) I certainly do!!
Any suggestions are welcome. Until next time,
Annette

Here Kitty, Kitty, Kitty

We have Bob Cats in our area. This one just
walked through our back yard a little while
ago and we got our first picture. Last year
the mom came through once with 2 kits. It
is great to live out from the city so that you
get to see such wildlife. They just calmly
wonder through our yard on their way to
where ever. Of course we also have deer
and lots of bunnies, but the Bob Cats are my
favorite. Enjoy, Annette

Saturdays Fall Vintage Gathering

Our Vintage Gathering on Saturday was so much fun!

Not only did people come by car, pickup, suv, and bus
but this little cutie was parked in the middle of everything!

When walking around you could see so many vintage
finds.

And some that weren't so old but held the charm of
the season.

We had more vendors than ever before and they were
everywhere.

There were clothes made from vintage fabric.

And old quilts used for tablecloths.

Fall colors were all around.

And the cow at Beyond the Garden Gate smiled!

For those who love Pyrex, this was your place to be.

And the elegant was mixed with the primitive.

The day was just splendid. I didn't get as many pictures as I had
planned. I met really nice people and it was a very happy place to be.
Thank you to everyone who came to visit us. We appreciate the bus
load from up north, the Oregonians who crossed the river to see us,
the first timers and the people who have supported us from the beginning.
You are all the reason we have grown and hopefully gotten better. And a
special thank you to Cathy at Beyond The Garden Gate who shares her
lovely property and home for our Vintage Gatherings.
There will be more events, so stayed tuned. Have a pleasant week,
Annette

What a sight

I just looked out in front of our home and
this is what I saw......
We see some of the most beautiful sunsets! My camera
doesn't really do them justice.
I realized I had not blogged in a while-----I have been very busy
getting ready for our Vintage Gathering on Sat. (see previous post
for when and where). In addition to that I have decided to
expand Andy's Attic and am moving to a larger space inside
Uncovered Ruby. The new space will allow me more room to
have small furniture and move things around more easily.
Many ideas are floating in my head and I think it will take
me a while to get it just the way it should be. I am looking forward
to seeing folks at the Fall Vintage Gathering.
In the meantime, thank you for looking at my blog.

Flowers and quote

These are just petunias that are in a pot in front of my
potting shed. This is the time of year at our house when
they really get full and lush. We live at a little bit of
altitude which puts us behind in the flowering department.

Another Life Lessons:

Never eat more than you can lift.
